School lunches cost $2.75 - yikes!
We'll be bringing our own.

I have the kiddos make their lunches the night before.
I post a little sign on the "Lunch Cupboard" to remind them what to include.

I was looking forward to having a cool system for school lunches but our elementary district provides free breakfast and lunch to all students. I suppose as she gets older she'll have more opinions about what she wants for lunch. I hope you had a wonderful summer Joy!

I am so glad that you are making posts again. I stumbled upon your blog this spring and it has helped me so much! Thank you!

This is a great reminder! We used this system when my older two where in elementary school (so long ago they both say they don't remember). I just made up a list and posted it in the cupboard for my younger two. It makes my life so much easier in the mornings!

We've been working on ways to make my daughter's school lunches a little more healthy. Some things we're trying: dessert once a week instead of every day, and packing things like yogurt and cheese instead of chips and dessert. I've been buying only 100% juice boxes for a while now, even if they're a little more expensive. So far the "healthier" choices have been working out.
