MM stands for Minimum Maintenance and is the secret to never feeling behind in your home again! Your MM's are the tasks you need to do each day to keep up the basic areas of your home!
The rule is: Complete your M&M's BEFORE you start anything else - before projects, errands or any outside commitments (even before COMPUTER time). This way the basics will always get done - even in your busiest times (LIKE the month of MAY)
Here's my basic MM list:
Make Bed
Swish & Swipe Bathrooms
Bring Laundry Down, Sort, Start a Load
Quick Tidy
Quick Wipe Kitchen & Sweep
Empty Dishwasher & Trash
What’s for Dinner?
Remember: Your family can help!!
Start developing your own M&M list by noticing what you do each morning to catch up for the day and WRITING it down. Take some time developing this list and keep adjusting it until it seems to cover the basics around your home.
Remember this is not deep cleaning - it's the minimum tasks to keep the BASIC areas of your home clean. You can download my list of MM's: it's a daily chart that I have my kids choose from. They choose one job before school and one job after school. I can add things by their names if I need too.

As your family practices M&M everyday, habits are created that will go to work for you!

Unfortunately I feel that my "minimum maintenance" is quite a lot and not a minimum at all. LOL. Oh well, I've got all day to try and do them I guess. :) I like the term minimum maintenance though. :)
I feel your pain Mrs. Adept!! I've been there many times. That's when we have to re-evaluate and see where all the crazies are coming from. Develop systems, reduce clutter and get help. Check out the upcoming post on systems!
Thanks for the great idea! I've been wanting to do something like this and you just made it easier for me! :)
I love this idea. I'm all about simplifying!
Thanks
I set up my daily MM on my google calendar- which sends me reminder emails. I also put which day it is on my week plan so everything comes to me at once- your site has been instrumental to my JOY!
I just came across this. Thank you! I am sharing it with my readers over at SantaRosaMom.com. And I plan on using the tips for MM's in my own home. Lord knows I need it.....
